Da Players Playlist Vol. 7

Da Players Playlist Vol. 7

Where would you be without the players? I don't know probably listening to poorly curated playlists of subpar songs. It’s cool though, we got you. My blanco brother Nate D and I put together a beautiful assortment of some newer joints we got spinning right now. Larry June and Alchemist released my favorite album this year so you know a couple of those made the cut. West Dayton and P@XX dropped a banger, Slight, and this one will be on replay all summer.  Brand new Belly, Hitboy, and Russ help round out the remainder of the playlist. I can’t lie, we’re getting good at this. Here’s our Top 5 songs from Volume 7 of Da Players Playlist.

1. Palisades, CA - Larry June Big Sean The Alchemist

If you could fall into a beat and feel the waves the breeze and exotic vehicles, Alchemist probably created it. Larry June and Sean Don find their respective pockets and get to talking certified player sh*t. Big Sean’s verse in particular is some of his best work in the last decade.. “if you aint gettin richer every year you just backwards hustlin’, you movin off emotion, I’m strategizing discussin it.” Easily my favorite song of this year. - JAH

 2. Walk in Dis Bih - West Dayton $ir JD BOOKIEE

I’m not biased I swear.. my dawgs really went crazy with the energy on this track !!! West & JD  directed a dope music video to go along with it. This is my highlight track off their recent collab project titled “ Ignorance is Bliss” (available on all platforms so stream that) Be on the lookout for a lot more from each of these artists in the future.. CHAMPAGNE KNIGHTS TOUR STARTS JUNE 10th ! - JAH

 3. Slipping in the Darkness - HitBoy and Alchemist

What can you say man..producer/rappers have been shining lately ..it’s impressive to do both at a high level and these legends deliver in both lanes. Hitboy rapping over an Alchemist beat, Alchemist rapping over a Hitboy beat.. Big Hit turned some heads by going at every other top tier producer in his verse. Mustard Hitmaka ,MetroBoomin, everybody caught shot from the self proclaimed most versatile in the game.. Did he lie though? Pasadena is known for producing some stars if ya’ll ain’t know. Shoutout the surf club and HitBoy - JAH

4. Fatal Attraction - 6LACK

6lack had been quiet for too long, but he came back with a very solid project in “Since I Have a Lover.” He gets in his rap bag throughout the album, but Fatal Attraction is classic 6lack. Laid back, smooth and crisp production. This one has been on repeat. - Nate D

5. It Can't Be - Jack Harlow

This version of Jack may not be his most popular, but it’s definitely his best. First off, the beat is pure art. Rashad Thomas is a name I’ll be watching because the way he flipped this Bill Withers sample had me in awe. Jack floated on the beat and talked his shit from start to finish. It’s safe to say he’s very aware of the “industry plant” conversation…and he had no issue voicing his thoughts on it.
- Nate D
